You become what you practice. Practice suffering and you will get suffering. Practice becoming healthy and you will become healthy. Practice love and compassion and you will become more loving and compassionate.

Wu Style Short Form

Wednesdays 11.30am to 12.30pm

£30 paid in advance for a 5 week term

This class is currently for existing students only, who are learning the basics of the Wu Style Short Form.

Because of the progressive nature of this class, if you cannot commit to a five week term, paying in advance, you may still attend on a "drop in" basis but will be charged £7.50 per session.

Longwater Tai Chi teaches the Wu-style short form in 4 distinct stages:
  • Foundations - the basics of body alignment, how to shift weight, turn and start to feel your body - see our drop-in class page for more details.
  • Landmark Positions - relatively quickly you learn the 18 key postures of the form, and memorise their sequence. Click here to view the sequence of moves.
  • Go with the Flow - the gaps between each landmark position are filled in and, over time, everything is smoothed out.
  • Still and Deep - after much practice, you will begin to learn how to use the form to deeply relax, heal and meditate.

Attend both classes and save

If you pay in advance for both the above classes, you can save 20% and pay only £48 per term.

The history of Wilton dates back to the Anglo-Saxons in the 8th century AD, and by the late 9th century it was the capital of Wiltunscire, a region of the Kingdom of Wessex. It remained the administrative centre of Wiltshire until the 11th century. Wilton was of significant importance to the church, with the founding of Wilton Abbey in AD 771 and a number of other establishments. In AD 871 Alfred the Great fought and lost an important battle there against the Danish armies, leaving him in retreat for several years.
